Summer Chaos

I started the summer with a list of all the things i wanted to do.  I was hoping for a bunch of time off to sleep in everyday, go to the beach, and spend time with friends and family.  That didn’t happen!  Instead i have been working non-stop!  Luckily i love what i do, so it hasn’t been so bad.

This summer i’ve had the opportunity to do tons of fill in work on Virgin 95.3FM on top of my Sunday Shift!  Being on air is the best feeling in the world.  I dance in the studios – and unlike Sundays…people are around during the week and they watch you!! Learned this the hard way lol!  I sing in the studios – sorry Kiah Tucker……and I share entertainment news, talk trash about celebs and showcase spectacular community events!

Up next….covering the PNE for CBC TV and VIRGIN RADIO!

See you at the fair!

I’ve come up with the things i would like to do this summer, kind of like a Summer bucket list.  I encourage you to do the same, because if you write it down and put it up by your calendar, chances are you will actually do it! As i complete each task i will update it with my experience and you can decide if it’s something you would like to try! If it’s something you have done share with me your experiences simone@simonegrewal.com

1.  RIver Rafting at Kumsheen River Rafting Resort in Lytton BC.

This is one of my favourite things to do!  I just went a few weeks ago and it was amazing.  If you’ve done it, you know how much fun it is, if you haven’t – Try it.   You don’t have to be a super swimmer or adventurous, you just have to want to have fun.  The resort has great overnight accomodations, a hot tub and a pool.

Luxury Living!

The top suite at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York is now going for $35,000 a night. The room features dynamic views of Manhattan, bathroom sinks made of rock crystal and a personal butler. Guests also have use of a Maybach or Rolls-Royce. The suite, which opened in 2007, cost $50 million to build and seven years to design. The suite is only occupied 25% of the year. Other rooms and features:

- The Living Room

1. The carpet is made of white silk and specialists are called in to do major cleaning;

2. The chandelier cost $120,000 and is made of more than 100 fiber optic bulbs.

3. Guests have a personal butler who sleeps overnight in the hotel to be on call 24 hours a day.

- The Zen Room

1. The room’s waterfall flows over semi-precious granite from South Africa.

2. There are views of the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

3. The waterfall is refilled daily when the room is occupied. Employees scrub down the stone to make sure the water falls evenly over the rock.

Maybe if i got 35 of my friends together and we all put in $1000…….wait do i even have 35 friends?

Ebert’s Review for Sex and the City 2 – Ouch

Roger Ebert has given “Sex and the City 2″ a ‘one star’ rating. His review reads:

“Some of these people make my skin crawl. The characters of “Sex and the City 2″ are flyweight bubbleheads living in a world which rarely requires three sentences in a row. Their defining quality is consuming things. They gobble food, fashion, houses, husbands, children, vitamins and freebies. I know something about taste, and these women spend much of the movie dressed in tacky, vulgar clothing. There’s more cleavage in this film than at a pro wrestler’s wedding.”

How much do you love your dog?

We’ve got a new dog in the family, an American bulldog name Miley.  We love her and smother her with copious amount of attention.  Right now she is inside, but as she grows she will get shifted outside into her new home.  Petsmart has their most expensive doghouse listed at $209.00 and that would be nice for our spoiled princess….but she won’t be as spoiled as the dogs that belong to Tammy Kassis who spent over $20,000 on a house for her pooches.

Source: http://www.speedytown.com/index.php/2010/04/03/tammy-kassis-spent-20000-for-luxury-doghouse/

Chelsea, Darla and Coco Puff can definitely brag to their barking friends, about having the most luxurious doghouse in the world. Featuring hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, central heating and air-conditioning, this mini-mansion is literally fit for royalty. In terms of design, it has hand-made curtains, mini blinds, expensive wallpaper and ceiling fans.

And they all have to thank their owner, 42-year-old Tammy Kassis a former insurance agent, from Los-Angeles, who lavishly spent around $20,000 on this over-the-top dog mansion. She loves her two Yorkies and one Pomeranian to death, and she decided to give them a home of their own, when an owl almost snatched one of them up.

She asked deluxe kennel builder, and owner of La Petite Maison, Alan Mower, to create a small replica of her own home, a beautiful Victorian mansion, for her adorable fur balls. Next on her shopping list is a small plasma TV, because the spoiled trio loves to watch Animal Planet.

Now they are spoiled – hope Miley doesn’t see these pics!!

Scrumptious Seattle

Seattle is one of the best cities for a day trip or weekend getaway.  The border line ups were insane this weekend, but having  a Nexus helps, and once you hit the I – 5 you feel the adrenaline kick in for the all the wardrobe and food options that lie ahead.

Food is always the tough choice with some many great restaurants.  How does one choose? P.F Changs China Bistro, California Pizza Kitchen or the Taphouse?  This time we chose the Taphouse, which has over 160 beers on tap.  A cool place to check out with a great vibe!

Our dollar is really good right now, so it’s the perfect time to take advantage of this great city and all it has to offer.

Happy Easter Long Weekend : )
